Choo Choos
Thankfully Barnes and Noble has FINALLY gotten its train table back!! Asher really enjoys playing with the trains and was very disappointed that for the last few months he couldn't go play at the bookstore. They even have his favorite train, "KoKo." Asher can tell you the color of all the trains, too!
Asher enjoyed a weekend get-away with his Nana and Grandpa in Richmond. He LOVED the zoo!! He would run up to every animal and make their animal sound. He loved feeding the giraffes and even got to ride on a "choo choo." Then he got to enjoy swimming in the hotel pool and visiting the Richmond Children's Museum!
Easter Bunny
Asher enjoyed Easter and had his own little egg hunt out front. He didn't quite get why he couldn't drink the pretty-colored water that we were dumping eggs in but he definitely understood if he popped open a plastic egg there would be a surprise inside! Last year Asher was little enough he let us sneak his bunny ears on without too much fuss - this year, he wanted nothing to do with them!!

A Weekend Away
This past weekend was my FIRST weekend away from Asher since he was born 21 months ago. Sometimes it's hard to remember what life was like before our little guy was here, so it was kind of fun to have a weekend away just "Heath and Kristin". We both agreed enjoying some meals without sticky fingers was kind of nice. We, of course, knew Asher would be in good hands with NeeNee and Papaw. We got to enjoy downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. We even completed a 10K at Black Mountain - thank goodness we didn't have a stroller we had to push up and down those hills!
Here comes Peter Cottontail . . .
Happy Birthday to me!!

Florida Fun
All the kiddos can definitely agree that night time cartoons are the best!
Henry gives a new meaning to the term "kissing cousins"
I hate to say that Omaha wasn't exactly a vacation hot spot, but . . . it's certainly a lot more fun to visit my sister in Tampa! It was great to get all four cousins together again. At least I thought so, Sam might have a different opinion since his cousin seemed to always be borrowing his toys or "hitting" him when he was unhappy.
It was a quick four days but we enjoyed Dino World, the beach, the pool and the playground. Nothing beats 80 degree weather in March!

S*#!
Asher had quite the day yesterday. Every day we get a daily report from daycare and normally it says really good things. Sometimes he'll get a star for being a good helper and picking up toys or maybe they'll mention how much fun he had outside. The last two days his daily report has mentioned how Asher is having trouble keeping his hands to himself. Apparently he has decided if he doesn't like something hitting is the best way to resolve the issue. "Hands are Not for Hitting" has become part of the daily literature at daycare and part of his nightly bedtime routine. Daycare even commented that Asher does know what his hands are for when you ask him (we haven't heard him tell us anything yet). Anyway, hopefully this is just a phase that will quickly pass!
After not getting the best report Mama was a little flustered getting Asher in the car after daycare. I am very paranoid about locking my keys in the care when dropping off or picking up Asher. Yesterday, with Asher in one arm I went to open the car door and it was locked, "S*#!" So I went to open another door, "S*#!" And before I knew it a little, tiny "s*#!" popped out of Asher's mouth. Looks like we'll need to start watching that a little more closely!!!

Chick Magnet

Asher, I believe, has definitely inherited his mama's hair. Thick and lots of it!! He's had multiple haircuts to this point and so far his daddy has done all of them. As he has gotten older each hair cut has gotten a little harder. Asher certainly doesn't like the noise or someone messing with his head. This time both he was definitely in tears and his mama was close! But he certainly looks sharp now. A "chick magnet" as his Papaw would say.
His Daddy's Son

Asher, just like his Dad, loves ketchup. Apparently it is a finger food and a liquid. You can use your fingers to get it out of the container or just pour it in to your mouth. It does leave a bit of a mess but who cares about that!
We did learn that Asher does know how to clean up a mess, though. Apparently daycare has slightly higher expectations for him than we do! Now, if you give him a napkin after a meal he'll use it to wipe off his hands! Of course he still needs a little help but he's getting there.
Ride Baby Ride
Asher recieved a bike this Christmas from his Nana and Grandpa Ewing. He loved to push the bike and spin the wheels intitially but was a little apprehensive about actually riding it. Now . . he's a riding fool! Asher loves to hop on his bike and take it for a spin around the basement, the yard or even the living room.

"Snooooow"
It's been a very mild winter this year and so we've been able to lots of stolen days outside on the playground. Actually this past Saturday we were in sweatshirts at the playground in our neighborhood. But then . . . Sunday we had 5-6 inches of snow! Asher got to go out and play in it twice. His favorite things were watching Peyton play in the snow and making snowballs with Daddy. He even enjoyed making his own snow angel! Of course Asher was also excited that his "snow" is so easy to say since it's so close to his favorite word, "no!"
