Happy Birthday - early!

Asher enjoyed spending his friend Olivia's second birthday at a pool party. I think his favorite party of the party was the . . . watermelon!!

I love you daddy. Happy Father's Day!!

Poor Peyton

Peyton has definitely had to make some sacrifices since Asher arrived. He sadly isn't the baby in the house anymore. All the toys are no longer his and most belong to Asher. And while he often gets yelled at when he takes a toy from the baby, when Asher takes one of Peyton's toy it usually just causes us to laugh. However, with all of the negatives I think Peyton is pretty happy Asher is around. His meals have certainly gotten supplemented with regular table scraps (even if it's baby puffs and pureed sweet potatoes)!

Walking?!?! Almost

At 11 1/2 months Asher isn't walking yet, but he certainly is getting close. He loves to cruise around the couch and he's got toy he pushes around everywhere. One of his favorite places to hang out is at the end of the stairway. He crawls over to it and then pulls up on the banister. He hasn't figured out how to climb the stairs but I'm sure that'll be soon too.

Yumm!

Asher started eating some solid foods just after six months but being a first-time mom I was very cautious about what and how much he could have. Probably a little over paranoid about him chocking on something or develping an allergice reaction to something Asher has had more steamed carrots and pureed sweet potatos than he can stand. Over the last week or so his palate has expanded drastically. He has found some new favorite foods including grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, chicken quesadillas and chicken noodle soup. Of course his favorite way to eat still has to be . . . take a bite, throw a bite, take a bite, throw a bite. . .. over and over and over again. While it drives Heath and I crazy we found somebody that likes this new game - Peyton!

When we went to the strawberry patch Asher even got to try his first strawberry. I think he liked it! (note pre-goopy eye procedure!)

Darn eye boogies!

Asher had a big week last week. On Thursday he had to go to the hospital to get his tear ducts unblocked. Unfortunately, they were only able to fix one so it looks like there might be another hospital gown in Asher's future. Overall, he was great. I think his favorite part had to be getting to ride around the hospital hallways in a car his daddy pushed. That, and the non-watered down juice! Even though a minor procedure, sitting in the hospital room waiting for them to bring our baby back to us was much harder than I imagined it would be. Not looking forward to having to go down this road again but very happy to have helpful doctors and a very healthy kid.
