Yum!

Over the weekend we had a wonderful dinner at home with family and friends. We were able to enjoy the leftover ribs for dinner tonight and yes Peyton even got to enjoy a little too - who could turn down a face like that (the drool didn't help either!)

A weekend to celebrate!

Every January for the last 14 years Heath's parents (and multiple family members) have made sure to be together to celebrate he's "2nd Birthday" an anniversary of his successful bone marrow transplant. What an awesome tradition.
Since we've moved to VA we've had to be a little more creative with these celebrations and done multiple different things from going out to a nice dinner to vacationing in Williamsburg and Gatlinburg. This year we went to the Bedford Social Club in Bedford, VA. In addition to having a great dinner we've been able to enjoy a fun weekend watching a movie, cooking ribs at home, checking out Lynchburg and Heath and his nephew even tried snowboarding at SnowFlex. We are truly blessed.

20/30

When we started this blog we did it to document all the big events happening in our life this year. Well, last week Heath had another one! As a repercussion of recovering from cancer as a teenager Heath has suffered from cataracts. With amazing updates in technology and his vision no longer able to be corrected to 20/20 (and I'd like to think because he doesn't want to mess with his glasses during late night feedings!) Heath decided to take a big step and have surgery to correct his vision. His left eye is done and everything is moving smoothly- just like his doctor said. His vision in that eye is 20/30 and should soon be perfect! Wish him luck as he gets his right eye operated on in another week. Check him out sporting his post-surgery sunglasses.

10 hours later we've got it, almost

We had a very LONG and exciting yesterday. After a 2-hours drive to Richmond, we spent several hours walking up and down the aisles of Babies "R" Us and BabiesUSA and we think we found the perfect furniture for our little one! (Of course the 'name' of this line of furniture is Peyton so that might have been an omen!). Unfortunately, it'll be another 6-12 weeks until it's in and then we have to drive back to Richmond to pick it up but we're getting closer. And by then surely I'll be far too pregnant to help carry upstairs or put it together.

16 weeks

I've been trying to take a "baby bump" picture every four weeks so here I am at 16 weeks. I've still got my regular pants on in this outfit but will admit I pulled out the maternity jeans over the weekend.
I feel great, not that I can complain - my first trimester went very smoothly, but now I actually have enough energy not to come straight home from work and land on the couch!

151 . . . 154 . . . 155

Today was our 2nd doctor's appointment with our OB. If you could call it an appointment - we were there all of five minutes (so no picture)! BUT, we did get to hear our little baby's heartbeat. It is strong and healthy, at least according to our doctor, I had a hard time hearing much other than static! The hearbeat was in the low 150s - so like me you can google what predictions heartrate has on gender; unfortunatley, though they all seem to be myths. So we'll just have to keep waiting on that question. My weight and blood pressure all seem to be in check too, so good news to report all the way around. We go back in another 4 weeks.

Already spoiled

It's clear that Baby Ewing will be quite spoiled right from the start. Only 15 weeks along (and the size of an orange) s/he's already getting Christmas presents - not to mention all the generous gifts we've already gotten after announcing we were expecting. Heath and I will definitely be bringing another FC and Colts fan into the family!
Peyton and Peanut are just starting to figure out that something is up but they have no idea just how much their lives are going to change too!

My first cruise = Total success!

It's unbelievable to think that we actually got 14 members of the Ewing clan all together to ring in the New Year on a cruise ship to the Bahamas. We had a great time laying on the beach, shopping and eating, eating and eating! (All agreed, the rolls were amazing). I don't think I can do the trip justice with just a few pictures but here are some of my favorites.

Wow, What an amazing Christmas

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind celebrating the Christmas season! My first trip . . . out to Omaha (and yet another Blizzard!). I got to spend some great quality time with two of the coolest nephews ever and lots of quality time eating, bowling and watching movies.
